i love and some times hate this little gun. on 1 hand its got some great tactical use from short caseing ammo like the mexican aguila sniper rounds for 22's and can fire rather accurately with them. also they have a extreme rate of accuracy at 10 meters which if your shooting a target further then that you better pray their is no wind differential or youll miss badly. the down side is other ammo i have had many a problems with jams and cleaning is a pain with reassembly. other then that its a great gun.

Absolutely great carry gun. Easy to conceal, ready quick if needed.Easy to clean.A little picky about ammo. Smooth is better. ridged edges tend to hang up. Once you find the right ammo, it's a pleasure to shoot. Prefer the 3" barrel over the 5". Especially when carrying.

I love this gun. Yes, it is pickey an ammo but I shoot Federal bulk pack and NEVER a misfire. It doesn''t like Remington or CCI. Use the Federal hollowpoints. I went outdoor shooting and not only is this thing ACCURATE with the new 5 1/4 barrel on it but I could outshoot my buddy''s Ruger Mark 1 and 2. Don''t let the price fool ya. They say you get what you pay for and this is one ya gotta try. Ran about 150 rnds. that day and it never failed. The Rugers did, several times. They are however a bit of a trial to dissassemble but once you get it down you''re good.

this little pistol is far better than the other 22lr compact pistols compared to the walther and the sig youd be crazy not to buy one, the 3 inch barrel is fairly accurate i can hold a foot group at 15 yds one handed and firing very quickly, the 5 inch barrel is great for target shooting even out to 50 yds i shoot clays at that distance seated with a rest of course, but i can say that the 5 inch barrel makes this gun almost equal with a buckmark, no not quite as accurate but a buckmark is designed to be a target gun. And im sorry but mk2''s and buckmarks are horrid looking guns. and another point i could have 3 of the hp22s for the cost of one mk2 buckmark p22 or mosquito, and you get twice the gun for a third of the price, I have shot about 5,000 rds through my gun in less than nine months and it rarely fails to go bang and when it does its the ammo not a malfunction and that is just the nature of the ammo, and ive Never had the round not go off after i re-cocked the hammer so its more than reliable, I carry it more than my 9mm, because its soo reliable and light and i get 3 extra mags for the same space and wieght of a avg 9mm and 1 extra mag. I was blown away by this gun you dont expect to get a fantastic well made reliable, trustworthy firearm for the cost of an expensive dinner. Fantastic gun imho better than any other 22lr handgun ive ever seen, And ive shot walthers sig''s brownings rugers converted 1911''s and none can beat the pheonix arms, Oh and the trigger is fantastic almost no creep it breaks clean and has almost nonexistant overtravel

Have had this little handgun for several years and after seeing so many random shootings on the news, decided to carry a small handgun. I had been thinking .32 auto or .380 and began looking over the prospects..when it dawned on me... I already have this Phoenix and although it is an inexpensive gun, has performed well for me having performed very reliably over the past years with many types of ammo...and I could confidently make a facial shot at distance if need be. I plan on ordering the 5" barrel kit, this week if possible and if that will conceal OK..so much better for power & accuracy. If it doesn't conceal well, I can still use it for hunting.

I've had it for 3 years without ever having a misfire. I've heard that certain kinds of ammo may not work as well. Considering that I first fired about 30 rounds without remembering to clean out the cosmoline, then put it away for several years without cleaning, then firing another 100 rounds with amazing accuracy before giving it a good cleaning after disassembly, I'd say it's a terrific gun. It's well made, easy and fun to use, has a double safety system so it's great for someone as busy and absent minded as me. Tried to find the company web site again and couldn't. Is the firm still in business? Not sure I really need it but a 5" barrel might be fun for target shooting.

My Phoenix HP-22

I've had my HP-22 for eleven years now and although it does not like Federal 22LR shells due to the low grain, it fires all other makes with out incident. The double safety and what I call the "at the ready" in my houlster makes this a very comfortable and easy to use gun. With the slide locked back and the magazine on my belt, all I have to do to ready the compact gun is put the magazine in and slide the frame safety to the fire position, lift the slide safety and I'm good to plink, take out small game and target. I am anal about keeping my guns clean and this Phoenix is one of the easier to keep clean. Reliable? Absolutely. I have fired well over 3000 rounds through this little compact 22 and it is only second to my Colt Frontier Scout 22LR for being my favorite small caliber hand gun. I've fired Rugers, S&Ws, Glocks, Taurus, Remington, Mauser, Luger just to name a few and each has its own appeal. This inexpensive small caliber pistol ranks well against them all.
